Today I ran into an old boyfriend, Matt, at one of my favorite restaurants downtown. I guess I was halfway hoping to see him there, since we used to go there all the time when we were dating. Renato and I aren’t exactly exclusive, if you get my drift, but this guy is a bit of a sore spot with us. Regardless, when I saw him, a huge smile crept onto my face. I really missed him!

We embraced and laughed over the coincidence that we were just arriving there at the same time, and he invited me to have lunch with him. I almost said no, thinking of Renato, and then I decided that I might as well enjoy my lunch with an old friend. What’s the harm, right? He ordered blackened chicken with grilled zucchini and onions, and I got the lemon marinated salmon with a side Caesar salad. We talked and laughed throughout our lunch, and things felt friendly and light.

But then the conversation turned to our past sexual encounters… Soon we were smiling about the time in the parking garage, twice in the elevator at his apartment building, and the way-too-many nights in front of the fireplace at my old house. Wow, those were the days. I was getting hot just thinking about it.
